It has a lot of things you can do with it, but I think it should have a manual with it so you know how to use it properly. Overall it's good.

A great, neat little midi controller with lots of features

I wanted to downsize my midi keyboard and this is a great solution for it as it so neat and compact. I also wanted the functionality of triggering clips playing live and this ticks that box too. An extra little added bonus are the 8 knobs on it which are super handy for controlling sends/FX parameters etc.
It's advertised as an Ableton live controller but I use it in Reaper with the Playtime software from Helgoboss and it works perfectly.
Something to be aware of, the keys are not full size, they are quite small but that's not a big deal for me.
There is something a little off with the level of it though, when I press the top left button it kind of rocks on my desk as if it's not sitting flat which is a little bit weird but it doesn't bother me that much as it only seems to happen on that corner.
For the price I think it is a really good product.

It's a cool entry level controller for Ableton Live.
I went for it mostly because it was compact enough for my momentary needs having knobs, keys and most importantly launch pads on it.
I find it a bit difficult to play the keys they feel a bit rigid and not reacting too sensitively to velocity.
Easy and really straightforward to use.
USB connection being on its side can give headaches.

Great way into Ableton

A great way to learn Ableton! I mostly use this to trigger clips with Ableton, and it's been a huge revelation to me! My favourite way of being creative.

The keyboard is the same as other Akai keyboards - personally I find it hard to play phrases or chords as I mostly play piano with weighted keys, so I'm mostly restricted to playing simple phrases/chords.

A tiny criticism is that the USB out is on the side- sometimes I want the unit to be directly next to another unit or my laptop, and having a USB cable in the way can be annoying.
