I love it
It's difficult to rate the RD-6 without context as it is a clone of a cheap machine with limited functionality. Once you know what you're buying you can measure it in these terms.
The RD-6 sounds great and is a simple machine. No swing, no tuning and certainly nothing fancy like probability. If you dig the 606 sound (think Autechre's Bike) you will be happy with this.
I love the sound, the feel and the price. Another great machine that I may never have owned otherwise. I had a minor problem with some beats from Bank I bleeding into Bank II so I've marked quality down slightly. In practice I generally only use one bank so I've tried to work on anyway.
Highly recommended for that simple robotic beat. Best analog hats in town.

Tuff Little Unit ...
The RD-6 is as simple and direct as it gets.
If you craved for a TR-606 but never had the chance to get one, this will suffice as a purchase! You should not expect the bells and whistles of the modern TR-06 reincarnation. However you should expect the full analog drum sound of the original. I found it very easy and straightforward to use, and the distortion, although a bit harsh (doesn't have a soft setting) unit is a welcomed edition, for every hard acid and electro freak.
The case is plastic, but bear in mind that that was the case with the original device. There are no controls to alter any drum properties, except volume and accent amount. However try playing with these settings (especially the difference between accented and not accented hits) and let the distortion do the rest. You'll be surprised.
I found my self using it, more than I thought I would. Needless to say I fell in love with it :)

Crispy punch in a plastic box
Sounds and features are very solid. Distortion makes Toms hum through warm saturation. Classic 606 hats cut through everything. Random pattern shortcut can be a nice starting point when creating something new. I use it as a clock also, midi in and tempo out. The box itself is plastic and light, gives a flimsy feeling, but it can be a great thing if you need to travel or carry it along. The price is also crazy, just buy it!

Just like the real thing
Ex-owner of a TR606. This thing is just like the original with a few inobtrusive modern additions and midi control. Matches nicely with the TD-3. A lot of fun to be had here - but I wouldn't choose this as my only drum machine. I use mine with an RD-8 and MPC2000xl as part of a DAWless set up.

Great machine over all
Its a great little machine.everything you would expect from a 606.They added the open hihat decay with a firmware update. Its lightweight and made out of plastic same as the original no big deal for me.
The Cymba/hi hat is tune a bit higher than most originals(not that i have one to compare myself). Its not a deal breaker for me even tho i wished it had the sweater lower tuning

Best Drum machine you can buy for the money
Absolutely a gorgeous instrument. I have a lot of fun syncing the RD6 to the MS1 from Behringer. You can jam with this machine for hours. Even when recording the sounds, you realize the potential of this drum machine.

The build quality is like the TD-3s : plastic, pots are not wobbly, buttons are tight.
Sounds amazing!!!
