Installation déroutante...

Je me suis lancé dans le Madi, 64 canaux dans les deux sens à 48KHz et 24 bit, ça autorise quelques prises de son de gros ensembles, ce dont j'ai besoin... Au déballage, tout y est, même une notice en papier et non un simple lien sur leur site, mais, premier écueil, le kit de mise en rack ne comprend que les "petites oreilles" et la "barre de liaison" de 2 demis racks, le format de la bête, et pas une grande une petite, comme chez Shure par exemple, pour la mise en rack 19"... Et ils ne la font pas en pièce détachée...
Quoiqu'il en soit, boitier et finition inspire plutôt confiance, même si je trouve que les contacteurs de navigation dans les menus font un peu "cheap"... Mais rien de grave.
Sous Mac, quand vous téléchargez les drivers, lisez entre les lignes pour trouver la version qui correspond à votre OS... Pas simple, c'est en anglais, et plein de petites annotations qui vous font ressortir le dictionnaire... On allume, et le logiciel, un coup je vois la carte son, un coup non... En fait, utilisez le cordon USB qu'ils fournissent, pas de câble à 2€, non, la bête aime le luxe, donc câble de qualité, et pas trop long... Donc utilisez exclusivement celui fourni...
Après ces sueurs froides passées, ça marche bien, très bien même, ma Soundcraft VI1lui dit merci, l'interface pour la patcher est très intuitive, et le son que je capte est parfaitement enregistré sur mon Mac... Pareil pour le mixage "out of the box"... On gagne du temps, et de la qualité audio... A l'utilisation, très bon rapport qualité/prix, à l'installation, anglophobe abstenez vous... Et utilisez les câbles fournis, et pas plus long...

Economique mais instable

Cette carte fait tout à fait bien le travail.
Difficile cependant de tout faire fonctionner du premier coup car le pilote de la carte n'est pas très clair (Motu). Mais une fois cette étape réalisée, quand la config ne bouge pas, et qu'on respecte un certain protocole d'allumage tout se passe bien.
En revanche lorsqu'on change nos habitudes, tout est plus compliqué; le Daw ne reconnait pas toujours la carte, et il faut tout rebooter...
Je l'utilise avec une digico SD8 et un Macbook pro. Cette carte madi offre tout de même une bonne alternative économique aux autres cartes madi... Après pas mal d'essais je compte tout de même en racheter une seconde pour l'enregistrement backup.
