REVV IS A DREAM
Photologik 13.03.2022
Since I tried the Revv Purple channel on my Line 6 HX Stomp I've been dreaming of getting that tone in a dedicated box. I can't afford a Revv Generator 120 MK3 and needed to free DSP from my HX. Also, I'd rather prefer an ampless setup and have "my sound" readily available for most situations.

The REVV G3 is the solution and man, it sounds really awesome!

I'm using the G3 as a preamp going into cab IRs and I'm extremely satisfied! It's perfect for rhythmic metal tones and works well even for leads.

The knobs and aggression button really help shaping the sound. I prefer aggression on blue but red could be useful for a more saturated and compressed evil tone.

Even though I'm on blue settings this pedal has quite some punch and then some! Pure power!

Revv really nailed it on this one and the G3 is my favourite distortion pedal at the moment (which I use as a preamp actually!). I love the tone and it's perfect for metal. Great rhythm and leads guaranteed!

Thanks Revv!
And big thanks to Thomann for the amazing products and super fast delivery! Outstanding service

a
6-star product. Believe me
aokicassio 12.05.2020
This is probably the kind of pedal that will make you not look back at any piece of gear you had before. Just one day using this pedal and no more quest for perfect and motivating tones that I have been looking for so long.
Getting into the real thing:
Pros:
This pedal is easy to tweak. So straight forward that you will not spend more than a few seconds to find the first pleasant setting. All the knobs are really responsive. There is also a small 3-way switch in the middle which will add tons of gain to your distortion.
The box is sturdy metallic purple-painted and surprisingly lightweight. Easily fittable to a pedalboard. No nightmares to attach some velcro to its bottom.
Cons:
I technically have none. Maybe the boutique product price?
Not really because every cent paid on this definitely is reflected back in satisfaction. If you are on a budget there are other good options but if you have the money this is a no-brainer.

Amazing!
samhain66 22.03.2021
I'd been thinking about buying this pedal for a while before actually pulling the trigger on it and boy, I'm glad I did so! This thing is a beast, it handled everything I threw at it, and masterfully so.

I use it with the clean channel of my BOSS Katana 50. It sounds like a tube amp, very organic and defined. When the aggression switch is off, the gain is lower and somehow blends with the clean tone of the amp. The blue mode is heavier, but very tight and articulate, perfect for djent-style stuff or heavier rock. The red mode is the one I use most. It is a bit scooped, enough to give it a killer metal tone, the setting feels overall 'looser' but every note still rings clearly.

I downside would be that it's a slidy pedal, and the back scratches easily when doing so. I would have liked a rubber casing of some sort included, but this is not a deal breaker.

One of my best guitar related purchases!

Expensive? Yes! Good? LEGENDARY!
YaanTheStorm 25.01.2019
I got this pedal 4 months ago,
it comes in with nice packaging , some guidelines and sticker.

Looks gorgeous, high quality and well built. Outside is made out of steel
and coated with purple shiny paint. Knobs are solid, so is the switch.

When you plug your guitar in that little wonder, prepare for blast off. I combined this pedal with KATANA 50 amp and my custom patch, and discovered new dimension of sound.

I am hard chugga chugga fan and adore good chugging crunchy sounds, full of crisp and fatness. Despite all this sound is still clean and notes of chords shine through.

I agree, pedal is not cheap...
But, do i regret it?
NOPE!
It is hands down my favourite guitar related purchase in 2018 and i bought decent amount of things that year.

(Also, this pedal creates some hum, when activated, if you are really sensitive, use noise gate, otherwise at the moment, that you start playing, hum cant be heard,it s only heard during guitar inactivity)

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS WONDER to anyone who likes to metal it up full way, and even if not, it still delivers- rock,punk,metal..whatever floats your boat!

For real metall!
Stason 15.10.2021
Using this with my Marshall DSL20. Amazing sound, I'm satisfied. Enough gain for any guitar. Very juicy mids.
From minuses - it has quite annoying background noise, it is very sensitive for power adaptor. And you will need to use noise gate.

E7
a dream pedal for metal tones
Erdinc 7 13.04.2023
I am using with a Marshall 1960A cab and Fryette Powerstation PS-2A. Connecting Revv G3 into line input, and that's all for a dream tone. You can EQ quite nicely depends on rhythm or lead tone. if you use with guitar volume knob, you can also get blues tones from it. I used many distortion pedal but none of them satisfied me enough as this Revv G3 does. Life & Time Saver...

The Revv G3 does exactly what was built for: It turns your amp into a heavy distortion powerhouse. It responds incredibly well to different dynamics, similar to a tube amp and the distortion type sounds almost like a subtle clean channel on top of a distortion channel just to give that extra definition. I found it similar to Devin Townsend rhythm tones (with gain on 12o'clock and switch on the blue mode).

I still haven't explored much about the red/blue switch differences, I just feel that red mode has a slight boost on high frequencies. The EQ knobs are really responsive, very effective way to be able to shape the sound you are looking for.

The only negative I have so far is about the gain as I wish it would go a bit lower for some more flexibility for rock distortions but this is a high gain pedal after all.

Overall this pedal sounds like a Beast! It makes my guitar sound huge and full of power. I'm very impressed at how unique it sounds and I'm happy that it doesn't sound like "classic" distortion but instead it has a more articulate and clear distortion, which is exactly what I was looking for. It has however a very powerful distortion with lots of low end

I recommend you to try the Revv G3 as I haven't heard a pedal like this before, it's really really good.

A diamond in the rough
rayme1975 10.04.2022
There are so many distortion pedals out there. How does anyone decide where to start or what they will like. I've watched my fair share of YouTube videos which seem like an endless task but that's how I discovered the Revv G3. Initially I was a bit sceptical as I wasn't getting that sound I was looking for. I play mainly metal/hard rock, but with a little bit of patience and time spent tweeting my amp settings to better suit the pedal in no time I was chugging like Ola England. If you're a hard rock or metal fan you can't go wrong with the Revv G3. It might be a little on the pricey side but it hold through that you get what you pay for.
