Arturia's ADAT input expander
The AudioFuse X8 IN is a purpose-built 8-channel analogue-to-ADAT converter designed to extend the line-level input capacity of ADAT-compatible interfaces such as Arturia's AudioFuse Studio or AudioFuse 16Rig. Housed in a compact half-width, 1U aluminium chassis, it provides eight balanced TRS inputs alongside dual optical outputs supporting up to 24-bit/96kHz conversion. By expanding analogue input capacity without redundant features, the X8 IN keeps synthesizers, outboard processors, or external mixers permanently connected and recording-ready.
High-resolution conversion and signal integrity
The AudioFuse X8 IN's high-quality A/D converters deliver up to 119dB dynamic range with low distortion, preserving detail even in demanding sessions. Each channel offers selectable operating levels between +4dBu and -10dBV via front-panel pad controls, ensuring compatibility with both professional and consumer hardware. The DC-coupled analogue path accepts audio and CV/Gate signals, enabling digital capture and transmission via ADAT into DAW environments. A BNC Word Clock input with switchable 75 ohm termination makes sure synchronisation remains stable within larger digital systems.
Practical hardware integration
The half-width rack format with removable ears allows flexible desktop or rack installation, and two units can be mounted side-by-side for expanded setups. Dual ADAT outputs maintain channel counts at higher sample rates, using S/MUX operation when supported by the host interface. Front-panel Link functionality enables stereo channel pairing for faster configuration when working with stereo synths or processors, reinforcing a straightforward, hardware-focused workflow designed for demanding hybrid studios.
About Arturia
Arturia's success story began with software emulations of well-known analogue synthesizers such as the Moog Minimoog, Sequential Prophet-5, and Oberheim SEM. The popular software instruments included in the V Collection are still flagship products of the French developer today. Over time, Arturia has gradually expanded its range and now also offers a host of hardware devices, ranging from synthesizers and keyboard controllers to sequencers. Since then, the former software developer has thus also become a household name in the world of analogue synthesizers and other equipment.
AudioFuse Creative Suite
AudioFuse X8 IN includes the AudioFuse Creative Suite, featuring a curated selection of Arturia effects inspired by classic studio hardware – such as Pre 1973, Pre V76, Pre TridA, Comp FET-76, Rev PLATE-140, Delay TAPE-201, Chorus JUN-6, Filter MINI, and Phaser BI-TRON – providing studio-quality tools that extend the unit’s role from signal capture to full production workflows. Analog Lab Intro adds a curated collection of synthesizer, keyboard, orchestral and hybrid sound presets drawn from Arturia's renowned V Collection, providing immediate access to a wide palette of playable sounds. As bundled software may evolve, the manufacturer's website should be consulted for current details.
