Blackstar ID:X 50

I got this amp to supplement my Beam mini and it doesn’t disappoint. I play my Epiphone Les Paul through it and it sounds great, it shows off the awesome tone of the guitar really well. The amp has a great choice of preprogrammed tones although I find some of the ‘shift’ controls (e.g. the noise gate on the volume) are slightly fiddly. The pre and post effects sound good and are easy to use, and the banks are good quick access shortcuts to set up favourite sounds. The low power modes are great for practicing and the 1W setting works well in a house room. The Architect software runs ok on my Mac mini and it’s easy to control the amp over a 2m USB cable. Construction seems to be of a good quality and it seems pretty robust so far. Only slight niggle (not with the amp) was the Euro mains cable sent didn’t fit the included UK mains adapter so I had to source my own IEC mains lead.
