Absolutely delighted with this piece, took a few months to get my lips used to it as I was going from a standard 12C to the 6BS, The hole (throat) is a lot bigger in diameter needing lots more air, plus the cup is a lot deeper, providing lots more flexibility. High notes are tougher but persistence will pay off. This piece has really opened up my bottom register making the notes more stable and richer. Overall it has given me a darker tone ,not to bright and adding lots of power and volume to my playing.

Pretty nice
The sound of a trombone improved remarkably, the range and the skill also, very nice and wallet-happy choice for a student trombonist.

Great quality, but requires strong air support due to its deep cup
The Denis Wick 6BS is an exceptionally well-made mouthpiece with excellent build quality and a very comfortable rim. The response is clean, and the sound is rich and traditional.
However, musicians should be aware of its specific physics: it features a very deep cup and a wide throat/bore. Because of this, it provides less backpressure and requires substantial, well-trained air support to maintain stability in the high register. If you prefer a more resistant feel or a shallower setup, this might feel too open. But for those looking for a large, deep, and open symphonic sound, it is a fantastic choice
