Solid choice!
Pros:A very versatile pickup. Can be used in neck, bridge and in middle.Combines very well with other pickups.Has a very bright/glassy sound. You can't go wrong with this if you want a classic strat sound. Its a single coil that is made with two magnets stacked on each other,so it is somewhat hum canceling and doesn't produce so much hum noise. It was used by Yngwie Malmsteen in 80s.

Wonderful!
The Fender Custom Shop 69 pickup sounded too bright in my Stratocaster bridge position. I tried a mini humbucker, but that sound was too booming for me. I always adored Yngwie Malmsteen's sound on older records, so i ordered this pickup.(although i don't even play Yngwie stuff myself) OMG, this is perfect! Now i have a beautiful bright gain lead sound, without all the crappy noises and edges. With this pickup i can hear every single note, when playing with lots of overdrive. I wish i had discovered this 25 years earlier!

the best pickup for clean tones you can buy.
This is a wonderful pickup! I placed it in the neck of my strat and its sounds beautiful. when played clean, it gives a nice, warm bell-like tone that is very responsive to every move your fingers make. when overdriven you can come close to a malmsteen-esque tone but slightly hotter. I recommend this pickup be used with other single coils since when paired with a humbucker, it doesnt seem to have the output to compete (maybe i just use too high output humbuckers but ah well!). But I'd say it makes an excellent replacement or modification pickup to your guitar, especially since its hum-cancelling as well which is an added bonus.

Classic noiseless single coil sound
The smoothest, well balanced single coil classic.
I have two of these, mounted in the bridge and neck positions - ash body, maple neck strat guitar.
Great pickup, suitable for any position, especilally if you want to make your strat sound more mellow, transparent and well defined, even when over-driven.
Highly recommend!

DiMarzio DP117W HS3 A good Bridge pickup
I have this in the bridge position and it is sounds really nice without being 'too much' on your ears.
This pickup handles an overdriven channel very and the sound doesn't lose clarity with high gain or volume.

yes, OK, but...
I ordered 2 of them, for a Squire CV 50"s maple neck.
They are muddy.
I have them @ neck & middle. Bridge, DiMarzio DP420 VIRTUAL solo.
Medium power, that's fine.
Neck solos are not that mellow . They shoud be.
For the first time ever, I enjoy middle position playing.
Hum free, for sure. That's a huge plus.

low output
Interestingly enough this pickup has a lower output that the stock 86 start single coils.
