Great all-rounders

I find these strings a perfect pairing with my mahogany top guitar.

The sound is warm but also clear, well balanced between the different strings. I think singer-songwriters would favor these strings.

The feel is very smooth however the strings are very tough before being broken in. I took 3 days before they slackened enough to be comfortable for me.

I think the sound is great for most styles of music however I have difficulty imagining bluegrass being played on them.

I have been using different gauges of these strings for the past 4 years and I have settled on 11-52 as they have plenty of bass, mellow but clear and present highs and very smooths mids.

I recommend for OM, Grand Concert, Grand Orchestra style guitars.

Probably the best acoustic strings there is.
rihardslibietis 29.12.2020
These strings work just great for me. After years of experimenting with various brands, I always come back to Elixir. For the acoustic guitar it's definitely the best option - strings stay fresh and "sparkly" for a longer time, even if playing regularly, and the protective cover they put on the strings somehow feels very comfortable. When using a fast-fret for cleaning, these strings retain the "just changed" feeling for at least some weeks. I also enjoy the phosphor bronze string sound - it's a bit more "mid-rangey" than bright in the upper end, but IMO that's the sound an acoustic guitar should aim for anyway.

Only con would be the price - Elixir costs almost twice as much as some other OK acoustic strings, but since they also last twice as long, it's worth it, although, when on a budget, it makes a difference.

Great Strings, Dodgy Quality
Tom2879 22.02.2019
I love the Elixir Phosphor Bronze strings. Firstly, they sound great. The sparkle off them is just fantastic and, like it says on the pack, they last for ages. They really do.

Now, if I were to have a criticism of these strings it is that they break just a little too easily for my liking. They are expensive. In the .11-.52 pack, the G is a 0.22, It is extremely light. So when I order a pack I always have to order at least one extra G (0.23) because the 0.22 will snap during the first hour of the gig.

The E and B are also prone to snapping quite a bit too but other than that they are great strings and when they don't snap the freshness lasts ages. They are capable of withstanding months of heavy gigging and still sound great.

I love these strings but the whole G thing is very annoying.

Once you try them, you never look back
lucapette 15.12.2021
The first day with these strings may feel strange, they need a day or two to settle. But then the sound is brilliant, crisp. And they last for a very long time compared to other brands which justifies the price

Fire&forget solution

I put these on my Harley Benton OOO size every christmas and they stay on for a year. I rarely play the guitar (less than once a week), and these strings are a good solution for me for this usage. They don't corrode and although loose that "new string" feeling and sound within days, they are consistent throughout the rest of the year.

N
great strings, made my acoustic complete
NikKa 04.11.2021
So I always really enjoyed playing my acoustic guitars, especially the Baton Rouge X54S/OM-CHB. The body is on the smaller side and I was looking for strings to that make it sound fuller and and just a little more "out there".
The strings did just that. The guitar sounds fuller and the strings play amazingly, not only for strumming but also for fingerpicking stuff and licks.
Although I feel like when using a pick a lot you tear of the coating(?) after many hours of playing. I looks weird but still sounds good for a long time.
Happy I was recommended these strings and will herewith recommend other trying them! Great stuff!

Definitely worth paying a little extra
Ste Keloid 27.02.2024
I've had a set of these on an acoustic in the house for around 2 years, and they still sound like I put them on last week. The slight increase in price is far outweighed by the extra durability, and consistency of sound.
There is no noticeable difference in the way the string feels, or sounds with the nanoweb coating, but they are able to withstand so much more playing without corrosion / dulling.
Would definitely recommend for any regularly gigging guitarists who would like to go through fewer sets of strings.

Elixir for my Baby
Domagoj 13.10.2013
First time I was introduced to Elixir strings was when I got my Taylor BigBaby. I tried couple of other strings but for me Elixir Nanoweb feels the best. They sound bright but silky. I found them sit well in my mixes. They last long, I play all the time and change them every 6 month or so. All my Acoustic Guitars are equipped with K&K Sound 'Pure Mini' pick ups (which are great - please Thomann, have those on your offer!). I record 2 channels, one is Pure Mini and the other is Studio Project TB1 mic. Elixir Nanoweb 0.11 are just right for these setup.
I didn't like Polyweb version and my preference is 011 gauge.

The strings sound really great, and most importantly, for a long time. I change them about once every six months, when I have to play very often. If you rarely play the guitar, then in a year these strings will sound wonderful.
The timbre is pleasant, a little soft, and there are no unnecessary sounds.

What else can be said?
honzakalnik 23.02.2023
Elixirs all the way. Tried different brands and none of them (including the new D’addario’s XS) held up for so long. My hands are extremely sweaty and these strings in the combination with using GHS Fast Fret can easily tripple the lifespan of other brands, maybe even more. So at the end they will cost you less than cheaper strings because you won’t be changing them that often.
