Well...
Ive had the 81/60 set in my LTD 1000 for about 18 years now....it badly needed new electronics/pots etc so i decided why not replace the pups too n get some new tonal options....I have fishmans in my 7 string ibanez and love them, was close to going in that direction but this emg set caught my eye, so i decided to give them a try and save on price too.
Well.....they sound absolutely incredible. The cleans sound amazing, in any of the options/combos with the push pull....the high gain....chuggs for days, rich articulate chords, has the great qualities of the 81 but more upper mid bite n more open and articulate sounding.
I am very happy, just turned an old guitar into a new one.
They are larger than normal EMGs so do take that into consideration its a full 5mm thicker so the neck pickup could be an issue depending on the guitar. Mine is just within the limits without needin any routing to the cavity, 1mm more and id have issues so i was lucky.
Amazing pickups, if you're curious, try them out, well worth it.

Cant understand why these are not more popular.
I find these pickups have an arsenal of potential in terms of sound and tone availability that can pretty much cover any jenres of music you might want to have a go at.
How did they acheive this? they are actually two pickups in one casing, not simply a humbucker split but a single coil and humbucker together.
The only down side from doing this is they are deeper than most standard humbuckers so may not fit in to your guitar without some alteration to the cavity space which I had to do.
Having said that however, I could not be happier.
