Committed to tradition

The Fender Rumble 15 is a compact bass combo that is designed for home practice and comes with a range of practical features. Its speaker and amplifier are housed in a single unit, saving space and making the combo easy to transport. Fender is a brand with a long tradition, so it's no surprise that the Rumble 15 produces a sound that feels far more powerful than its size and output would suggest. A three-band EQ section provides access to a broad palette of sounds, and the control panel additionally includes a headphone output for those late-night practice sessions; beginners will doubtless also appreciate the fact that the Rumble 15, a bass, and the necessary accessories are available as part of an attractively priced starter package.

Fender Rumble 15

Reduced to the essentials

An 8" speaker, manufactured specifically for Fender, and a 15-watt transistor amplifier form the core of the Rumble 15. Its powerful basic sound can be shaped to suit the player's taste using the effective three-band EQ with controls for bass, mid, and treble. Alongside the instrument input, a pair of headphones can be connected via a 6.3mm jack, and the 3.5mm AUX input allows an external music source, such as a mobile phone, to be played through the combo. Despite this combo's affordable price point, Fender has also not cut any corners in terms of visual aesthetics, and has given the Rumble 15 a highly authentic appearance that echoes the timeless elegance of the company's larger amplifiers, including the black vinyl covering and silver grille cloth.

Fits under any bed

The Fender Rumble 15 is primarily aimed at beginners who are taking their first steps on the bass but still want a powerful, full-bodied sound. Its low weight is an advantage, especially for children and teenagers, yet the Rumble 15 is equally appealing to anyone in need of a small and space-saving practice combo. In smaller flats or apartments, every metre counts, and the Rumble 15 can be tucked away under a bed or stored in a cupboard without any difficulty.

About Fender

Fender is without doubt one of the most legendary guitar and amplifier manufacturers of all time. The company was founded in 1946 by its namesake Leo Fender († 1991), whose innovative ideas brought a breath of fresh air into the musical world. His Telecaster, Stratocaster, Precision Bass, and Jazz Bass are not only classics – they also continue to shape the styles of musicians in countless genres to this day. Timeless Fender amplifier models such as the Bassman, Twin, Deluxe, and Princeton also enjoy a stellar reputation. Besides maintaining its classic product portfolio, however, the company is also constantly developing new products that make Fender a driving force in today’s music industry.

Effective practice at any time

When starting to play an instrument, it's often tempting to continue practising late into the night, but this can quickly lead to problems if parents, siblings, flatmates, or neighbours begin to complain. The Fender Rumble 15 addresses this problem with a headphone jack that automatically mutes the speaker as soon as the headphones are plugged in, making late-night practice possible without disturbing anyone. To make practice sessions as effective as possible, the combo can also be connected to a sound source such as a drum machine or mobile phone via the AUX input, allowing players to jam along to their favourite songs, drum loops, or a simple click track.

Best bang for the buck

Bought this for home practice, wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised with the sound and power this thing packs.

The materials don't feel cheap at all, everything works like you'd expect from a expensive Fender amp. Didn't think I'd be using this for anything but practice, turns out it's loud enough for band practice and I even use it for on stage monitoring when running the sound through a DI box. The low register tones aren't that loud, however, things get louder the higher you go. The only thing I can complain about is the EQ that doesn't really do anything due to the size ans power of this thing.

Keep in mind I play in a 6-piece semi-acoustic folk band with electric drums so things don't get that loud on stage, you might need something bigger if you play rock music.

For the price-unbeatable

Subjective observations only, I'm a beginner bass player. I can compare to smaller cheaper amps I've owned also.

Features are basic, but all a beginner needs, namely volume, bass, treble, middle.

Build quality is excellent, all jacks and knobs are reassuringly solid.

I owned cheap (30-40 euro) bass amps in the past, and it's a complete waste of money. You owe it to your ears and your music learning to spend a little more to get something like the 'rumble'.

It's always subjective anyway, were I a better player I could probably make the amp sound better. I'm using with the Harley Benton PB-50 which is an entry level bass, and I guess the instrument and amp are well matched.

Perfect for practise
N1mp 05.03.2020
Use: I bought this to be able to practise at home

Pros: it's small, reliable. It has all the inputs (instrument and line-in) and outputs (speaker or headphones) that you need to practise in good conditions. It also has basic and meaningful settings. It is very easy to get a good tone with this amp, which might be difficult with most 15W amps.

Cons: none at this time

Top Quality Amp with Excellent Service.
Shard 05.09.2019
From the time Thomann sent the Amp it was at my door in Victoria, Australia within seven working days! Fantastic service to match the the quality of this terrific little practice amp.
The Fender Rumble 15 is of solid construction with great tones! Quiet enough to practice inoffensively in a confined room or it can be loud enough to let the neighbours know you take your music seriously.
You can't go wrong with this top notch practice amp!
