Good product but harder than expected

I have been experimenting with synthetic reeds for alto and have tried a number of offerings including this. I think it has many strongpoints - the tone quality and intonation are excellent, they are obviously durable (sadly this far from universal among synthetics), they feel good in the mouth, are easy to place on the mp because not transparent, are not slippery on the mp table - but are described as medium soft yet feel much more like hard to medium hard - which make them far, far less responsive than they should be. I might try a soft one at some stage.
