They do the job but...
I refreshed an old drum kit and I wanted new "chromes" on it. For toms I bought this one and I thought it was great at first because it fitted the TAMA accessories I already had (10mm holes). However the rosette doesn't fit in a tama tom memory lock, therefore the tom ends up twisting on the rod of the tom holder. So good built but not compatible in fact... a little disappointed. Sure it can work with other brands but I haven't tested it

Gibraltar floor tom leg holder
Gibraltar hardware is deservedly known for it's high quality. I have an old Pearl Forum series set, which is great and satisfying. BUT it's very hard to find original Pearl hardware for it, since it's older mounting system type is not manufactured anymore. So i decided to try the Gibraltar leg holders for my 16" floor tom, as recommended by fellow drum builders.
Pros;
+ as can be seen form the first glimpse, it's built from a high end material composite, durable and solid.
+ mounting is as simple as it gets.
+ since the distance between screws is non-standard for the original leg holder, and the gibraltar one is bigger, i had to drill extra holes. But it fits and holds perfectly.
+ the price is very affordable.
Cons;
- be careful no to over-tension the screw; it wont break the holder, but might bruise or bend the leg (depending on it's quality.
- It's quite big in size, but that's a price to pay for solid quality.
Summary;
To buy or not to buy? ? Yes! Definately!
I'm a heavy hitter, so the floor tom takes quite a punishment on my drumfills. Strong and solid legs make it possible for me to groove on without dreading the set falling apart.

Good lug but cheap metal
Lug is well designed and functioning is okay. The material of lug feels thin, the screw does not seat exactly at the place so you have to very loosen it to snug on rod. Thread of screw bolts is cheap, you have to screw exactly at the right position.
Rubber gasket is a plus.

proper
decent tom bracket that is very sturdy and can take a lot of grief from an hard hitting percussionist. mounting screws were a bit short, so i ended up using a bigger drill, allowing the screws to sink into the kettle a bit more. then again, you could also purchase larger screws.

tama imperial star Replacements
My emperial star rosettes got destroyed, so I bought two of these as replacements..
Very easy to install and a pretty solid grip for the money..
Still working after two years of heavy duty usage, I definitely recommend it to everyone who's tired of using worn out rosettes..

Not sufficient grip for most tom arms
I bought 4 to use on my Roland rack with some some toms I'd converted from pearl mount, and they don't grip well enough. I tried on another rack which uses Gibraltar tom arms and they grip better, but still not perfectly. Plus, when off the rack the tightening mechanisms flop-around, and if they come undone you could lose parts.
I would recommend them only for floor toms, with decent grippy legs, and only if you don't want to spend a few extra euro on better ones.

Great
Does exactly what you need it to do - sturdy brackets that hold floor tom legs of multiple sizes. No downsides that I can see.

Genuine standard parts
I bought this because i am restoring a 14 " floor tom which was in a pretty bad state. I bought only one of those thing, I worried about it might not fit on. The floor tom is one of these Yamaha made in Indonesia.
I was able to fix it without struggle. Fits perfectly and looks tough like new. I need to buy 2 more of these and replace the legs. Gibraltar hardware are genuine and I strongly recommend !!
