Brilliant guitar with so many options
Gavinc2712 31.01.2026
Bought this Gibson Les Paul Studio Session in Dark Purple Burst and what a beast she is! So many options for sounds, from coil tapped humbuckers that almost give a strat like quality (and this is coming from someone that has a number of strats!) to rip roaring straight through humbucker in to amp this thin is a monster!

The quality is amazing as well. I have always been put off Gibsons when I have played them in the shop in the past as I felt the quality didn’t live up to the price tag however Gibson have clearly rectified their quality control systems as the craftsmanship on this is just insane, bearing in mind its price point to other Les Paul’s (<£2000 at time of purchase).

The only issue I had was that it took so long to arrive, however this was Gibsons fault. Thomann were excellent and their customer service was faultless and first class. Every time I called they updated me and were honest about timescales and the issues with Gibson and their delivery (a quick google will tell you Gibson are notoriously useless at distribution of their products to non US customers). Once the guitar was received by Thomann it was sent out and arrived to the UK within 4 working days which is just brilliant!

To sum up this is a brilliant guitar, the sound is amazing, the quality is brilliant and Thomann were first class, but one, you won’t regret it!!!
