I kept the same strings to make the comparison fair and substituted zinc saddles with the steel Gotoh's. As expected the tone went more brillant, louder and it lasts longer.
The notch has the strings centered, neat; flat-top saddles allow them to drift, sometimes. Tuning stability after some bends seems to be the same but it's definitely better after trem motions. A droplet of oil in the notch seems to help a little bit, will have to see in the long term, the swap has been made the same day I write this.
The saddles look good under a magnifier, the notches and the plating are totally even. The rear screws have the same length, but, refinement, two springs are shorter for the intonation of the third and sixth strings. I had to cut some springs in other sets of saddles but not with these.
The vertical screws are sharply cut, and sport exactly identical and flat bases. Under string tension, the saddles move smoothly while adjusting the intonation. They touch each other but don't bind.
It seems that the plating and the shape of the V-notch in the saddles make trem motions smoother, if this is not a subjective feeling, there is less friction now.
Affordable and highly recommended.
