Not what I was expecting
The unit became faulty in less than one month, unluky perhaps. The output started to make loud noises and poping almost blow my speakers. Sound captures are great, but it's too limited linear machine! Not many options...the PC interface was terrible to use, messy UI! The unit needs to be connected to power supply to be used as an audio interface. The noise gate cuts off sharp not a smooth signal noise cut
Too many negative factors to compete just with the good sound quality.

Game changer, but not for players who wants to play with guitar cabinets
This unit is a Game Changer, if you search for a profiler! This is much better comparing with Kemper and Quad Cortex (I used them both) for much less money.
BUT, if you want to play it with a power amp (like Matrix GT 1000) and with a guitar cabinet, this is not a choice for you. I've tried almost all available monitors and linear speakers (FRFR), but I've never been satisfied and I also don't like to play with headphones. You will ask, why I don't just use guitar amps instead? I play different genre and I like the sound of different amps, but I don't want to spend 20K EUR just for amps.
Con:
So, if you mainly play with guitar cabinet, profiling technology is not for you, because you will never get the sound of the amp alone, but you will hear the whole profile chain. The algorithm that cuts the cabinet frequencies is just an approximation. You have to look for modellers, like Fractal, Helix, Hotone II etc. BTW the amps that use modelling in Quad Cortex are not so good in my opinion.
If you use FRFR, studio monitors or headphones, the profiles are higher quality compared with Kemper and Quad Cortex.
I'll stick with my Fractal FM9.

Awesome product
Just a wonderful product, the stock profiles didn’t sound good playing through an amp/cabinet but as soon as I downloaded some only amp profiles from Tonenet it really came to life, puncy and raw tones…
Looking forward to profile my own amps….

great sound, poor interface and software
The sound quality is very natural, the amp simulation by far the best of all the units on the market. Unfortunately the interface is not very intuitive both in the device and the software. I am waiting from IK multimedia for a bigger pedal board of combined technologies from Tonex and Amplitube in one device together with a useful inteface.

Amazing Stompbox
This product really surprises me... incredible sound and nothing to complain about the feel. The software on pc could be better but we can for wait new improvements.

Very disappointed
Out of the box I encountered 2 big issues.
1. When trying to register the product in order to unlock the ToneX and Amplitube5, IK Product manager failed to register as the "serial number has already been registered by another user".
I would have gone through the trouble of getting in touch with Ik MultiMedia support if not for problem number 2, which is absolutely unacceptable.
The unit produces a very loud buzzing sound either used directly with headphones or as an interface through the computer, rendering it practically unusable.
The pedal will go for return and thankfully Thomann has a money back policy.

great replacement
For the money best amp simp, the app is is full of apms, the preset from tonex are not so good, but the community is adding still new model captures. For home practice ten out of ten. For gig i need to test it, but in rehearsal room it was perfect.

It's ok
So I got this to try out, out of curiosity. The tones in the unit are good, but, the software leaves a lot to be desired. Not very intuitive

It's okay.
No output volume knob. No input gain knob. Only 44k recording sample rate. Lot's of sounds.

Excellent, exactly what I needed!
This pedal is exactly what I was looking to add to my pedalboard. I didn't need the extra frills of a Kemper or Quad Cortex and just needed something with realistic amp sims and a reliable companion software to go with it and Tonex does exactly that.
I play bass and guitar and have the exact tones I need for my use case and I couldn't be happier.
