The device works just fine as described in the ad. As others users have reported though, it's unfortunately not possible to have it permanently power up in 'merge' mode (it powers up in split mode regardless). Sometimes I forget to switch to merge mode on power up and I freak out for a bit wondering why my setup is not working as expected...it's a bit annoying not to be able to select that. It would avoid some head scratching and especially save time.

Works well. Only one issue I can't figure out - how to set it that way so when I Power On the unit (in standalone mode) to be in MERGE mode, not in SPLIT mode.

Ik had best wel wat problemen om sysex commando's over PC te sturen naar oudere synths met dit bakje. Met een ouder MIDI device werkte alles vanzelf.

Vond het niet zo'n stevig ding ook niet.

It has been working just fine as USB to DIN MIDI interface, as well as standalone MIDI splitter! Good construction, stability and price!

Does what it says. If you need the assignable port function then its a versatile unit. that s why i purchased it.
