Best practice amp worldwide
painkiller84 29.09.2023
I own a tube amp head and practice using vst amp sims. But this little thing made me really happy. It's not a toy, it's a great practice/noodling amp. Many many features, especially when using its android/ios application. Much louder than expected but loudness is not its purpose. Sounds really good. Nice materials and quality. I would buy it again.
Only downside that you can't change effects queue. I am pretty sure nux will fix it at a later update

I'm still amazed by this tiny beast!
Not only it's loud (considering its size), but the quality of its simulations has left me speechless ever since I bought it.

I'm a huge fan of tube amps, so much so that I bought tube amps of any size back in the day. 5w, 20w, 50w, 100w... I had them all! I also had some pods but they never satisfied my ears.
I sold my tube amps because I had to move to the UK, and I've been looking for a new amp to buy to start practicing again, and possibly get back in the game. But I needed something practical, and I was a bit skeptical about the most recent digital pedalboards. Then I got to know about this beast, and I had to change my mind once and for all.

Believe me, it's no toy and the sound quality is awesome - it might fry a little past 3 on the volume knob, but that's cause the speaker is meant for quick, practical desk use. Once plugged in your headphones, you can crank that volume up and it just sounds amazing.
You can control it with a very straightforward app that connects to the amp via Bluetooth. The amp comes with 7 presets that will blow your socks off, but the potential expands once connected through the app as you can play with many simulations and go for the sound you like.

It changed my mind and I'm seriously thinking of taking it up a notch and going for a Trident, as the simulations should be the same (if not better, on Trident).

A must-have.

For what you pay for I honestly cannot complain, the features you get with this via the app really makes it worth it. Build quality is ok to say the least and the sound is what you would expect, but it can get pretty loud.

Sounds as you would expect

It´s a versatile little box and ideal if you are limited on space or need ultimate portability. These little boxes with tiny speakers will always sound tinny - whatever the manufacturers claim. I use it for direct monitoring the amp out of my Axe IO when I have latency issues in my DAW. Just sits on my desk and makes noise. My main issue is tha, it does not remember the last setting if you switch it off - so if you have a Soldano dialled in and restart, you are back to Jazz Clean, and you have to reconnect your phone and choose the Soldano again. Valuable seconds wasted... Apart from that it seems well made, reliable and sits nicely on my desk not bothering anyone.

Great budget practice amp

You have access to lots of amps, IR's, effects, etc. Of course, the amp modeling isn't as good as more expensive options, but it's very, very good considering the price. The amp is plenty loud enough for practicing in your room. It's plastic with a metal grille and sturdy enough that I don't worry about throwing it in a bag and taking it with me. I guess maybe the only negative is if you hate using apps. If you hate apps, don't buy this because the app is essential. The app itself is easy to use. I guess one more small negative is that you can only save 7 presets on the app, which is a strange limitation. (There is a free 3rd party app, "Mightier Amp," that allows you to save as many as you wish and has more features. You can download both apps for free and preview them) Frankly, at this price, I don't see much out there that can compete. I thinks it's especially good for people new to electric guitar who want to experiment with amp models and effects before investing in more expensive gear.
