A tiny powerhouse with giant performance

At first glance, the Obsbot Tiny 3 looks like a compact and capable webcam. A second look quickly reveals what's really going on inside: It's a fully fledged PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) camera with a controllable gimbal and full 4K resolution, all packed into a housing that is, true to its name, remarkably small. Thanks to its large 1/1.28" CMOS sensor, it delivers sharp, low-noise images even in low-light environments, while its built-in microphones provide excellent sound quality. Obsbot's AI Tracking 2.0 system, previously reserved for owners of the manufacturer's professional Tail series, enables a wide range of tracking functions. In practice, this means users can move freely in front of the camera, hold products up to the lens, or work at a whiteboard without constantly having to adjust framing and camera position manually. The Tiny 3 can also locate and track the source of a voice, and even understands a range of hand gestures and voice commands.

More than a webcam

The Obsbot Tiny 3 packs an impressive number of features into an exceptionally compact form factor, including many that users love to see in a PTZ camera – but don't always get. One standout is the rapid autofocus system, which is particularly useful when presenting objects close to the camera. At 4K resolution, the Obsbot Tiny 3 records at up to 30fps, and anyone looking for 120fps can achieve that in Full HD 1080p. Of course, streaming at either setting will require a fast internet connection! Setup is straightforward and requires no driver installation, although the camera's full potential is only really unlocked through Obsbot Center, where pro-grade image settings such as gamma values and white balance can be adjusted. Gimbal tracking is handled by AI running directly inside the camera rather than by software on the connected PC, as is the case with some laptop webcams.

Compact, versatile and sensitive

The Obsbot Tiny 3 is aimed primarily at users who want an easy way to create with a camera, whether it's for work-related video calls, livestreams, product demonstrations, or content for YouTube and Twitch. This is where the camera plays one of its strongest cards: Thanks to its large sensor and ISO sensitivity of up to 12800, it can capture detailed images even in dimly lit streaming stations, while HDR helps maintain balanced results without blowing out in front of bright windows. Equally, the three integrated Spatial Audio microphones mean the audio recordings are almost as versatile as the video functions: They allow more focused voice capture and neatly complement a camera that automatically follows its subject, so the Tiny 3 delivers professional-quality audio and video, even when the source is moving. Those who prefer a dedicated wireless microphone setup can opt for the Obsbot VOX SE, with a receiver pre-integrated into the Tiny 3.

About Obsbot

Obsbot is a technological start-up company that was founded in 2016 and has, from the very beginning, focused on the development of groundbreaking AI-assisted innovations for the videography sector. Its first product series, the innovative Obsbot Tail AI camera, has already won several international awards – including the Red Dot Design Award and TIME Magazine's Innovation Award. The crowdfunding campaign for the follow-up product – the Obsbot Tiny – generated advance orders for more than 4,000 units from the company’s enthusiastic supporters. Obsbot has since continued to grow rapidly, and it currently holds more than 140 technology patents that span the AI and robotics sectors. In addition, the company’s intelligent camera and live production solutions have established a strong market presence in over 150 countries around the world.

From solo setup to multi-cam

The Obsbot Tiny 3 is first and foremost designed as a high-end webcam. In that role it is a dependable, unobtrusive tool that performs well straight out of the box. As creators' requirements grow, however, the wider Tiny 3 ecosystem offers a range of expansion options. Up to two VOX wireless lavalier microphones, a laser-pointer remote control, and Elgato Stream Deck integration all help to expand functionality and tailor each user's production workflow to their individual needs. It's also possible to build a multi-camera setup using several of these compact cameras: Because the cameras can pan and zoom, pairing them with the open-source streaming software OBS Studio (the similarity in names is only coincidental) makes it possible to create surprisingly versatile camera angles and professional scene changes.
