10. Flanger
If you were to run two tape machines with the same tape copies at the same time, you'd get a unique delay effect by manually adjusting the tape reels to either slow down or speed up the tapes (this technique is called "flanging"). When you combine both of these signals, you get the cool effect you're aiming for.
Flanging is a bit different from phasing. Instead of causing phase cancellations like a phaser does with its chorus-like delay times, flanging creates harmonic resonances. This gives flangers a softer and more pleasing sound compared to phasers. But remember, these effects have some similarities, including how you control them.
