I do not have too much experience with this instrument, but I can say it sounds well in recordings, also as a shaker. I can say is good for sound design as well as the classical way of using it. I love it

Nice looking instrument, cheap, nice and robust, sounds ok but does not last very long and is nigh on impossible to get a continuous sound from - you will need another one so you can stagger the turn to get a continuous rainstorm

Pearl Bamboo Rainstick - African rain. The sound is pleasant and soothing during healing. It just requires learning the technique of using this instrument, as you have to learn to move it harmoniously.
