Get rid of your rim mounts and use these instead!

I bought these to replace some ugly rim mounts on a kit I bought second hand. I think the normal opti-mounts are a bit ugly, and I wanted the chrome finish to match the kit I had. These are not a cheap option, but I have to say I was surprised on 2 counts. Firstly, the sound was great with them fitted, I was expecting them to affect the resonance slightly, and it wasn't affected at all. Secondly, they were rock solid, no movement at all of the toms- I haven't seen this since the old days before suspension mount systems and the drum was bolted directly to the fittings. I was really impressed. they aren't my favourite system- the Yamaha Yess mount system uses less metal and covers up less of the tom finish than these, but I wouldn't retro-fit a yess system to a tom as it involves drilling new holes. For fitting on other drums that have no suspension system or for replacing ugly wobbly rims systems, these are great, attractive, light, resonant and stable. save up and get some for your toms.

Gute und schicke Tom-Aufhängung (Freischwinghalterung)

Die Vorteile einer freischwingenden Tom-Aufhängung liegen auf der Hand. Der Kessel kann frei schwingen und entwickelt somit ein besseres Resonanzverhalten. Das Sustain (Ausklingen) wird verbessert. Fast alle neuen Drumsets sind teilweise bereits in der Einsteigerklasse mit derartigen Aufhängungen für die Toms versehen.
Bei der Pearl Optimount-Halterung handelt es sich um eine technisch und auch optisch sehr gute Variante. Pearl hatte bereits mit dem I.S.S.-System ein gutes System am Start, welches immer noch in den Einsteiger-Serien von Pearl zum Einsatz kommt. Das Optimount-System stellt eine Weiterentwicklung dar, die in den höherwertigen Serien von Pearl zum Einsatz kommt. Wesentlicher Unterschied ist, das die Halterung sowohl oben als auch unten am Tom befestigt wird.
Für die neuen Masters, Masterworks und Reference-Serien von Pearl wurde nun nochmals eine Verbesserung erreicht. Die Halterung kommt nun komplett in schicken Chrom-Finish daher. Ausserdem wurde Aluminium als Material verwendet, womit diese Ausführung ein wenig leichter als die bisherige (immer noch erhältliche) ausfällt.
Wer sein Set mit einem freischwingenden Tomhalte-System ausrüsten möchte oder das bisherige austauschen möchte, der sollte sich die Pearl-Halterungen unbedingt anschauen. Die Verarbeitung ist über jeden Zweifel erhaben. Stabil und sehr gut verchromt. Der Preis mag zwar nicht gerade günstig erscheinen, aber die gebotene Qualität ist jeden Euro wert. Zumal an der Halterung lange Freude haben kann.
Selbstverständlich kann die Halterung auch an "Nicht"-Pearl Drums verwendet werden. Lediglich auf die Kesseltiefen sollte man achten. Hier gibt es verschiedene Ausführungen für die unterschiedlichen Kesseltiefen. 7"-8"; 9"-10"; 11"-12"; 13"-14" und 15"-16". Zu achten ist evtl. noch auf die Anzahl der Stimmschrauben. So könnte z.B. bei 14" Toms mit nur 6 Stimmschrauben die Halterung nicht passen. Gleiches gilt für 8" Toms mit vier Stimmschrauben. Darauf also bitte achten vor der Bestellung.

Unbeeinfluster Klang mit optimaler Halterung

Sehr schöne Arbeit von Pearl, echt lobenswert. Das mit den höhenverstellbaren Eisenstangen in der Mitte und den verschiebbaren Kumminoppen zur Befestigung an den Tomschrauben ist eine einfach geniale so wie hilfreiche Funktion, die es ermöglicht, mehrere Tomtiefen zu mounten und auch geringfügig andere Tomgrößen aufzuhängen. Besonders interessant ist die Art der Aufhängung, eine Vierpunktaufhängung an vier Spannschrauben. Der Klang wird fast gar nicht beeinflusst und noch dazu ist dieses Mountsystem sehr stabil gebaut. Trotz dessen wird es der Tom durch die Kumminoppen auch ermöglicht, beim Draufschlagen nachzugeben, so dass die Tom frei mitschwingen kann.

Ich benutze dieses System jetzt schon seit einiger Zeit und hatte bis jetzt noch keine Probleme, weder beim Auf- und Abbau noch beim Schlagzeug spielen.

Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert! Deshalb 5 Sterne!
