Top quality bass strings
As you would expect from Pirastro and at this price these are top quality bass strings. They are made with synthetic core and metal winding and if you like the slightly softer feel of a synthetic cored string these are a great option. They have a full round sound and feel nice under the fingers as they are thicker than all metal strings.
They are well made, well finished and long lasting. I have a set on one bass that must now be five or more years old and they still play and sound great.
They come in normal or 'soft' tension. I have used both sets and they do have slight differences in feel and tone but I have been equally happy with both.
They are great as a general purpose string for covering a range of styles. Obviously, strings are very much a matter of personal taste/what suits a particular instrument/playing style etc. so there are no hard and fast rules... Definitely worth a try and, for what it's worth, my personal favourite!

Good strings.
Good strings, with a dark tone. I prefer the light gauge, they appear to be more alive.

My favorite strings of all time
These strings sound amazing and I love playing them. They will last a few years at least.(had my pair on for 3 years). Super great for pizza and arco. Maybe a bit dark for arco, but works well in chamber music.

The most uncomfortable strings
Very mixed feelings after using this strings. Needless to say about high quality of Pirastro, as usually. But very special to use. The most high tension of all Pirastro strings, also very thick, G as big as Flexocore’s D or even A. Good dark warm sound with very low high frequencies. Suitable for orchestra, but questionable for solo. Also very demanding for bowing, especially in thumb position.
Unfortunately even spirocores feels much better (which I personally see as ones with the lowest characteristics).
Also with high tension Evahs tend to close the sound of an instrument.
