Excellent product, excellent service
The Risa Uke-Solid-Tenor is surprisingly easy to hold and play given the odd shape. It seems nigh-indestructible. I would have no worries about packing it in a suitcase as long as I loosen the strings first. It sounds great, and acoustically is very quiet. The overall experience feels more like a solid-body electric instrument even though the strings are plastic. So IMO it occupies a very interesting niche that you don't get even with an electro-acoustic ukulele. For that reason I recommend getting one of these as a serious playing instrument, not just for travel or quiet practice.
I deducted 1 star from quality as there are some VERY MINOR cosmetic issues with the build. The wood on the outer two counterbored string holes (G & A strings) is just slightly frayed. The serial stamped into the back could be cleaner and easier to read. Also a few barely noticeable scratches here and there around the points of contact between the wood body and the metal hardware pieces. Otherwise it's very solid, just as the name suggests.

Quality Instrument
Very pleased with this ukulele - very light weight and prefect for travel, and also as a very quiet practice instrument. Plugged in the sound is very sweet and mellow.
Action is very playable and intonation seems spot on. The tuners are a little awkward at first but you soon get used to them.

clear sound and good for travel
It is very good for practicing in the evening without amp. No fear of disturbing others. When plugged in with amp, it sounded beautiful. I love it and I ordered another one for my husband who also plays tenor uke.

Well made product, highly portable
Exactly what you expect from this product. A really quite acoustic uke (barely makes sound) and a decent amplified one.
I changed it because I definitely prefer the Concert size, but I'm gonna buy the Concert because it's a great travel buddy.
If you think about making a trip with it, it's way better that an acoustic soprano uke.

Ground buzz
The stick arrived last week. The action was just OK . The gig bag came without a strap. The major problem is the ground buzz. I have resoldered the input jack but that has not fixed the problem. Anyway, I'll keep working on this. Obviously the quality control is lacking.....

Travler's fiend
This uke is lightweight, and robust, that makes it perfect for travelling - the reason why I bought it.
The built quality was stunning. It made me buy another Risa ukulele.
It produces enough sound for an intimate session. Unplugged, it is quite zingy. Plugged in, it produces a good sound.
It i definitely my choice for travelling but otherwise I prefer other options.
