It really is extremely quiet
I wanted to switch out my PD-8 pads with mesh pads to reduce noise when I saw this new type of pad. Difference between PD-8 and PDQ-8 is huge in terms of noise emission. They feel good and it's more enjoyable to play them as you hear only the drum module sound and not banging against the wood board.
Even compared to mesh PDX-8 pad these are significantly more quiet, so if you are looking to reduce noise this is the way to go.
