Miniature analogue mixer

The t.mix xmix 802 USB allows analogue audio aficionados to get started straight away: This flexible miniature mixer features four XLR/cinch inputs, two stereo 6.3mm inputs, and a stereo cinch in, as well as a USB connection for backing tracks and recording. Unlike comparable compact mixers, the outputs on the xmix 802 come in both dual XLR and dual 6.3mm line formats. There is also a dedicated headphone out and two AUX channels, one specifically for use with external effect devices. Anyone who prefers to have the effect section integrated into their mixing desk might prefer the larger cousin of the 802, the t.mix xmix 1002 FX USB. However, fans of unaltered audio who like working with sounds that are ready to go will find that the 802 is an almost self-explanatory mixing tool for live gigs and studio sessions.

Signal routing made easy

As soon as the pair of master outs on the rear of the device have been hooked up – and it's been switched on – then users will have already done the hard part, so comprehensible and accessible are the controls on the main panel of the t.mix xmix 802 USB. Downstream from the gain itself, all four XLR/line-in channels have their own three-band EQ, and the rest of the path on the way to the output can be more or less summed up as "channel fader on" and "master on": Each line-in signal can be routed to an AUX path via the Master AUX Send controls, and the AUX path can be set to pre or post-fader, for example to create a monitor mix. The other AUX path is actually labelled FX, as it's intended for use with external effects: For example, a vocal reverb can be patched in, have its output connected back up to the 6.3mm FX return input jacks, and the result sent to the sum using the FX Return To Mix dial.

Suitable for studio and stage

The number of inputs on the compact but flexible the t.mix xmix 802 USB makes it ideally suited to singer-songwriters, duos, and three-piece bands – anyone with a preference for simple controls and an analogue workflow. The mixer can be used in smaller and larger locations alike, depending on the speakers that are connected. Sales reps running stands at a trade fair, for instance, get multiple easy-to-use channels via the device's stereo inputs, with adjustable treble and bass for background music. Hobby studio users can connect their monitors to the master outputs while also recording digitally via the USB socket, which DJs can use in a similar way to patch music in. And musicians who like to hold their recording sessions at home can use a set of headphones with the phones jack provided for this very purpose.

About the t.mix

Thomann’s in-house brand "the t.mix" has been an integral brand of its product range since 2000. This brand offers a wide selection of different mixing desks, passive PA systems, and various accessories, proving that quality, reliability, and an attractive price tag can go hand in hand. Whether users require a DJ mixer, a compact mixing desk for the rehearsal room, or a passive PA system for a youth club, the t.mix has a convincing and affordable solution for every application.

Record, perform, and more

Wherever the performance or the recording is taking place, the t.mix xmix 802 USB is quick and easy to install. Because phantom power can be activated on every one of the XLR outs at once, condenser mics and active DI boxes can also be included in the setup. When it comes to providing sound for halls or studio monitors, users can simply add a set of line cables with XLR connectors or 6.3mm jacks; for monitoring purposes via speakers or headphones, the 802 has the "Phones" and "CR Out" sockets, the volume of which is adjusted by one shared control. Even vocal reverb can be inserted into the AUX mix, simply by turning up the FX Return To AUX dial.
