Excellent silent pre-amp
Whenever I buy a Ribbon mic, I always get one of these with it because it makes a world of difference in the sound level and therefor the noise floor. You can also use them with dynamic mics to really boost the level. This one is very transparent and won't color the sound.

So simple and yet so effective
I bought this little guy to pair alongside a Rode Podmic. I have tested the mic both with and without the FetAmp. This tiny piece works wonders and really amplifies the sound of the Podmic allowing me to use the Mic with my Mixer with little to no gain at all. Does exactly what it says it does.

Worth getting for Dynamic mics
I bought this to accompany the t.bone BC500, and it’s so worth it for a few reasons:
(1) increased gain = decreased noise. It adds a fair load of gain (without clipping) to dynamic mics, resulting in not needing to crank the gain knob, meaning there’s a much lower amount of noise in your signal,
(2) it adds a touch of colour to the sound, barely noticeable but a nice addition to the BC500,
(3) it’s a really great price for what it’s doing!
There are only really two slight drawbacks with this:
(1) the length means it kind of ‘sticks out’ whether you have it on the Interface end or Mic end, making it look messier and messing up your cable management a tiny bit,
(2) the weight means it doesn’t work amazingly to have it on the mic end of the BC500, as the stand isn’t strong enough to hold the angle with the weight of this sticking out of the back of your mic.
However, I’m so glad I bought this - even just the increased gain element is enough to make this worth having despite the very mild drawbacks!

Does the job perfectly, needs more recognition
Little disclaimer: I would have gone for the Klark Teknik CT1 if it were in stock but I needed an preamp asap.
This preamp does a good job and needs more recognition imo.
There is not much to say, go for it if you want to save money and avoid overpriced stuff. I used this with the Rode Podmic (I have 2 of each) and it let me put my gain way lower, reducing ambient noise. On the two FetAmps I have bought, one is a little bit loose when plugging it into the mic, that's why I gave it 4 stars. Other than that, I didn't have any problem. I would recommend this item.

Great inline preamp
The title says it all.
If you want a cloudlifter or fethead but are on a tighter budget, this fetamp is great. I have been using it with dynamic mics and ribbons for years and it provides a nice clean gain boost that helps me keep my pre-amps away from the noise floor and also does a much better job, than if you were to go through a PSU powered unit like a 286s and then into your preamps, when handeling the noisefloor and keeping it low.
I tend to plug it in straight to the mic and then run the xlr from it, that way I keep the unwanted noise away by minimizing noise that I may amplify

loose fit for the SM 7B
No real issues, only that it fits the SM 7B (the only gear I tried it with) a bit loose. It clicks, but then keeps wobbly.

Cheap preamp for ribbon mic with good sound
It's a very good sound preamp for dynamic and ribbon microphones but quality of female XLR connector is a bit flimsy. Although this XLR connector is locked but it's a little shaky.

A simple but excellent booster!
It’s noise-free and easily drives the Rode PodMic and Shure SM7B.
Yes, it may feel like it lacks some filtering and character, but for this price it would be silly to complain the sound is amazing.
Paired with the Volt 176, this preamp delivers great results.
In short, I highly recommend it if you’re using a dynamic microphone — it definitely won’t be unnecessary!

A must for SM7-B owners - Just works
A simple little device that boosts the notoriously low output of the SM7-B very transparently, and doesn't need expensive preamps to boost it. The quality is a little flimsy (any of the others of tried are flimsy too), but if you're careful with it, it's a great buy

As good as any other
Really great price and this does wonders for my Shure SM58 dynamic mic. Cleans up the sound and warms it up through the clean gain.
Unobtrusive and fits in the microphone pouch with it. Highly recommended.
