Am a trombone player who dabbles with valves and specifically wanted to find a more compact marching instrument for occasional playing and took a large bore mouthpiece but that wasn't as big as a marching euph.
I say all of this as a predominaly slide player. It sounds great, the valves are good, it stays in tune up and down the the stave and its not too heavy (if you are used to a bass trombone).
For the price, if you are tempted, it's great.

Really a nice instrument, has good volume without distorting the sound.
It uses a lot of air though.
