Uso Spirocores medium 4/4 en un contrabajo de escala 105cm (3/4) porque de esa forma tienen un poco menos de tensión sin renunciar al volumen y sonido. Estas cuerdas encajan en cualquier estilo de música: yo las utilizo para jazz, country, rock, etc. . Aunque cuesta un poco más que con las cuerdas típicas de orquesta, se pueden tocar con arco y dan un sonido potente y con matices.
Mantienen muy bien la afinación desde el primer momento que se instalan.
Son cuerdas muy duraderas; Después de tocarlas durante unos días e irse ese brillo inicial que a casi nadie le gusta se pueden tener durante años sin que pierdan sus cualidades sonoras.

Für mich als Jazzer sind Thomastik-Saiten seit vielen Jahren die beste Alternative. Wenn's weich sein soll, kann man Solosaiten nehmen und sie in Orchesterstimmung benutzen. Bei regelmäßiger Nutzung halten sie ca. 5 Jahre, dann werden sie etwas obertonärmer. Man kann sie dann im Topf auskochen - was für Sparfüchse, aber es funktioniert. Gerissen ist mir in 25 Jahren noch keine, im Gegensatz zum Konkurrenzprodukt vom Marktführer.
