Bluetooth connection is painful, sounds are great
The amp and mic combinations are great sounding, controls are intuitive. The OX Stomp App works well, user experience is OK. The onboard effects are nice but an overkill for anyone owning a proper recording software with effect plugins or outboard effects. The only real drawback is the units Bluetooth connectivity that disconnects if your phone’s screensaver is on. So either you disengage your phone’s or iPad’s screensaver or you reconnect the device every time. Even a 10-year old car’s Bluetooth connectivity is more user friendly . I am hopeful UAD listens to customer complaints and fixes this issue asap.

Excellent sound, horrible interaction
The sound of this little box is great and it is super tweakable. You get the bonus of a compressor, a delay and a plate reverb in one pedal. Now, the app does not live up to the expectations and bluetooth connectivity is unstable (if you get to connect). In pedals such as Dream or others, the app is not that necessary. In this pedal, many functions and tweaks need tha app. Please UA fix the bluetooth issue. Also, provide a PC/Mac app as you do with the big brother ox box.

Frustrating Control App
I spent four days trying to persuade the Ox Stomp to pair via Bluetooth to the app but without success so I'm returning it.Life is just to short for this. Clearly UAFX have to rethink relying on Bluetooth and instead write the Control App for desktops use via the USB port.

Best amp sim there is
Simple the best. I have paired this now regularly with my quad cortex and I think I can't go anymore back to simple IRs. The UA speaker simulation is so much better than simple IR model that this really boosts and existing setup there is. Also perfect pair with distortion pedals if you miss cab simulation.

Beautiful Sounds - Terrible App
There are a number of fantastic cabinets inside this pedal; however, the workflow and the use of the app leave a lot to be desired. The faders often get stuck, and often it struggles to save. I'm running the latest firmware as of March 2026. The USB-C on the Ox won't connect via the cable to my phone, so I have to use the Bluetooth, which takes ages and is troublesome.
