A
Budget bass strings that do the job
Anonymous 26.02.2016
Yes, there are probably much better / nicer bass strings out there, but if you're struggling with the higher price tags of other sets, then these will do the job just fine and at a smidge of the cost.
I don't play bass much, but I have a bass knocking about that I use from time to time and I wanted some strings I could bang on it and forget about. These did the trick nicely.
Although they don't retain their brightness for as long as some other strings, this has never been a problem for me - at this price, one can get a few sets and change strings more regularly, rather than the old-school boiling of expensive strings in an attempt to get the brightness back.

Honestly - the best strings ever!
Radomir Sanovski 12.03.2026
After dozens, and dozens, and dozens of string sets from whatever brands I've had over a decade - these are my strings of choice.

They have the bright sound I like and you'd have to spend as much as 5 times more for strings with comparable tone (DR for example), they come in a sealed packaging unlike some "boutique" ones (*cough, cough* "Dingwall" *cough*), they last 3 times as much as some "proven" brands (*coughs again* "Ernie Ball") and in over 50 sets, I've had only a couple of ones with dead of wrapped E, which is still far better than the situation with Sadowski for example, not to mention the absolute champions of bottom of the barrel "GHS", who've had a dead E in 3 of 3 sets I've ever done the mistake of purchasing over time.

Only drawback I can think of is the Warwicks being a bit rough on the fingers, but that's not uncommon for Stainless Steel Roundwounds and it stops being a problem after a couple hours of playing.

All in all - no other strings for bass I can recommend more than these ones!

I have discovered this strings by accident and after purchase I have found out that after 1 year of playing they are still sounds fresh like a new. Highly recommended. I play bass with pick in punk rock band.

It depends on your taste...
LoTone 19.08.2014
These strings are very cheap. First choice, if you are on a budget. I just wanted to give them a try and experience what I would get for my money.
I had no problems putting them on my bass, quality seems okay to me. But already then I noticed the scratchy surface of the strings. I also had no problems while tuning them. Everything's fine.
The Warwicks provide a very brilliant sound, aggressive highs, especially when played with a pick. The low end is okay. So all in all the sound is not bad.
The downside is that these strings are really really scratchy. The rasp the skin from your fingers. Nearly NO playing comfort at all.
I can't say, if they last long, because I ripped them from my bass early because it was too uncomforable to play them.
So... Great value for the money, if you are a really tough guy!
