After comparing various flutes and researching the pro's and con's, I am very pleased that I bought the Yamaha YFL-212SL as my first flute! It has a great superior sound quality and comes in a good protective casing. I know that I will have a great amount of years of pleasure from this flute. As an addition, I recommend a thumb or finger support. This helped me in the beginning stages of learning to play, to stabilize the flute better. I have been playing for several month now (previously playing recorder) doing online lessons and am well on my way. Mechanically it is a stable instrument. Very happy client!
