THE supereasy preamp for basses
I totally felt in love with this thing: you tun it on, you don't want to switch it off.
Ok, it isn't cheap and it provides 'only' two controls... but it's perfect, I don't need anything more, maybe just an overall volume knob to keep the output level constant if engaged/disengaged.
It's one of the 'must have' on my pedalboard, I use it as preamp (always on) with my passive JB (how did I manage the sound without in the past?). With active basses, I engage it like a booster, e.g. for slap or solos.
Sound quality is crazy: it's always pleasant, adding tone and sparkle but never being harsh or muddy, even with both dials at maximum.
Super recommended, especially with passive basses.

Turns my shy passive pussycat of a Fender Jazz Bass 5 into a tiger!
Moving from an active Fender Jazz Plus 4 string to the passive 5-string was initially a disappointment as the Pups on it seemed very weak in volume and tone by comparison - I was tempted to give up on my 5-string journey when even my Aguilar 350 bass rig didn't cut through at gigs. I didn't want to convert the 5 to active as it's a collectors 50th anniversary edition, so went looking for a pre-amp. After trying several this Aguilar came out an easy winner - no more tone & volume worries!
It's very simple to use, two pots to increase treble and bass frequencies and volume, sits next to the amp and is on all the time in its very sturdy metal case. Only minor thing to be aware of is that you do need a mains power adaptor as well (Thomann sell them) rather than a PP3.
All in all, very happy!

OK
Perfect
I was looking for something like this Aguilar pedal, and I knew Thomann had it in their online store. Once I pulled the trigger and bought, it was all hazzle free, both the condition of the pedal, and the shipping and handling. It has become one of my go to pedals, and it is highly addictive.
