Lot's of features in a small package
It does what it needs to do and it works fine. Small and portable.
One thing that frustrated me for a few minutes: if you use a laptop as power source, all midi gets routed through the usb when the laptop is on. This means you can only use it to control a (semi)modular synth through midi when the laptop is off, when it is on but midi has to be routed through your laptop's sound device, or when it's powered by a wall adapter. This is stated clearly and in bold in the manual, but you have to read it first :P

Really well thought mini keyboard
With 3 octaves it's just enough to use both hands when you are doing piano parts. It's smaller brother is on that regard pretty limited. I've also bought it with the software bundle which is jus fantastic value for the money. Everything works perfectly and if I need to complain it would be about keys. They are a bit too stiff for my taste but than again it's cheap MIDI keyboard with mini keys. Definitely recommended especially with the software bundle.

my first MIDI
after watching so many tutorials where people say that arturia is better than this and actually proving their point I understand that my first journey of MIDI is kinda...sad? I guess it's just the matter of taste and my practice just started. Packaging is top-notch thanks to Thomann and DHL. First time seeing original instrument right in front if my face is a magic that everyone must witness

Bang for the buck
Got the AKAI MPK Mini Plus after debating for a year over if I should get a MIDI keyboard, and I’m glad I finally did! The keyboard feels a bit flimsy, and the pads are quite stiff, but it works really well in my setup with Elektron Syntakt and Digitone.
The separate MIDI channels for the pads and keybed (I set them to 15 & 16) make it easy to control both devices at the same time. It’s also great for triggering all Syntakt tracks via the lowest MIDI notes on the auto channel—super handy feature for Elektron users!
What impressed me the most is how smoothly it integrates with my Octatrack. The Octatrack routes MIDI to the synths perfectly without any need for additional gear like a MIDI merger. Overall, it’s a great addition to my setup despite the build quality being a bit on the cheaper side.
