For the price, unbeatable
I've tried every Fender ear protection and it was always that dull, unpleasant sound and the earplugs were stiff and uncomfortable.
That's not the case with these Alpines.
I sing in a 6-piece symphonic metal band, play bass in an alt.metal trio and play guitar and sing in a surf-western band and they work really nice in every situation.
I use the grey "mode" and it reduces the sound a lot while retaining some comfy treble. The golden pieces reduce the sound a bit more but there's a low end buildup and the white pieces sound the most natural, but they are not enough for my sensitive recording engineer ears.
4 stars in "quality" because after a year of weekly use the silicon(?) pieces start to have visible wear on their soft edges.
They are very soft and comfy though.
All in all I think they are worth every cent, I have recommended them to friends and bandmates and until I get a fancy wireless monitoring system I'll probably be using these.
Cheers!

These are pretty good
I use these for band practice, as a drummer. Sound quality is excellent as i feel i can hear all the other instruments better.
These are my first earplugs so maybe i'm not accustomed to the feeling of them going down the ear canal that deep so 4 stars for the comfort rating. It might be just me though.
-2 stars for the quality just because of the fabric wire/thread thingy that you can put on the earplugs to be able to leave them hanging on your neck. The earplugs didn't stay attached to that a couple of times now.
Nice that they come with a cleaner and a carrying case.

The Best I've Found so Far
These are almost certainly the best I've found so far. I've tried 3 different models so far, but these ones provided the best attenuation characteristics.
Use
I use these together with headset type ear protection while playing the ocarina, as it can get pretty loud at the high notes and cause ringing. But with these 2 things together, ringing is now a thing of the past. :)
pros & cons
So the pros are, quite good attenuation, and options for the degree of attenuation you require
On the negative side, I'm not sure how much I'm supposed to insert into the ear, i try not to insert too much, as a) those are my ears, and b) it gets attached to this thread, and it seems a bit delicate, so I didn't wanna risk pushing it so far in, that pulling it back becomes a headache, in case the thread fails...
Summary
I would definitely recommend getting this, assuming you would like to protect your hearing, while playing music... Maybe also look into getting some over the ear ones to use as supplementary protection

Perfect for rehearsals and concerts
I have used plenty of different hearing protectors and these ones seem to be the best for me. They block out enough without blocking too much sound quality, which is what I was looking for.

A life saver!
It's not a totally "quieter but ear free experience " but the frequency response is still great. Great for rehearsals, concerts and performances. A life saver if you play in loud bands! Very comfortable to wear for long hours.

The music enthusiast must-have
Personally I use these as a music concert spectator.
I must say these have been my main stay protection for over 10 years now.
It's great how they manage to reduce the intensity of the sound without colouring any frequencies. Intelligibility through their use remains top-notch.

Incredible
Absolutely works brilliantly. Tried in an incredibly loud heavy metal concert, in a SMALL INDOOR VENUE! Used the strongest possible filters. And it worked like a charm. I removed them for a second but realized how crucial they are, so to concert goers and musicians I recommend these!

excellent
Excellent product. Stay in ears, I sing and its not nice when your ear protection slips out. These stay in and provide excellent DB reduction. Very nice case and cleaning product included. will buy again and recommend.

Wish I had more stars to give it.
The classic Alpine quality. I have been using these for years. As a drummer doing alot of band practise and gigs, you can't always have in ear monitors, these do excellent job and you can hear everything clearly in a not so loud way that would melt your ear drums. The filters do indeed help as a noisegate.
They are very comfy and you can easily wash them after use (I recommend doing that).
Amust have for every musician.

Essential accessory for a gigging musician
I joined a new band. Despite being pop rock it is a very loud band. I already have tinnitus from years of gigging and had to take some action to prevent further hearing damage. These have been a revelation. Like many I opted for the solver inserts for the best balance between protection and decibel reduction. Very happy with these. I especially like the cord, I can get them out of my ears easily. Comfortable to wear for hours one end. I do have a little difficulty hearing my backing vocals, but this is a small price that the audience has to pay for the occasional bit of caterwauling.
