The perfect drumhead!
The perfect snare head for me. Even when I use thicker tom heads (Deep Vintage), the single ply Medium Vintage is just the right head for my 14x4.5" Maple Mahogany snare. The coating is indestructible.

Great head, has its own class
Bought this to experiment with Ambassador coated alternatives. First I tried it on a maple snare (14x5.5) used for café swing brush play: I found the drum less open than the Ambassador, and the brushes were too harsh for my taste, though I could make it work fine by the end of a 2 hour rehearsal. Back to Ambassador coated there. Then I tried this head on a brass snare (14x5.5) playing pop-rock: this head blew me away immediately! ‘Closed’ the drum just the right amount, kept ringing and overtones available in a very controllable way, made the snare sounding fatter and more robust. Superb there, not overly jazzy, not too muffled or dry, just perfect for that musical context.

Solid
It's a good drumhead and there is a good money to value ratio.

Killer Tone
I have a shallow floor tom on my main kit so I wasn't quite able to get that boom I was looking for without killing the tone altogether. Decided to try these after some research and barely had to tighten a turn before I got exactly what I was looking for. Great low open sound.
