One of the original sliders that came with my dt990 pros from 2012 cracked within the first year of use and the second not long after. These new ones are going strong after 1.5 years of constant use. The new clips are thicker than the old ones and they come with a little metal ball instead of just a pastic clip to keep the headband on the size adjustment you put it at. I can happily report that after 1.5 year the cans stay nicely in their place, unlike with the original ones. Of course I can't comment on whether these are now baseline on the newer models of the dt990 pros, but if you have an older pair that wont stay in their spot or have broken clips then these are a good upgrade.

Slider good, clip perhaps not?
Tiller 24.07.2023
The new slider system with the ball seems pretty solid.
The clips seem a little bit different but still plastic. Time will tell if they actually hold up.
I'm not quite convinced they're thick enough to handle the twists so easily applied to these headphones.
Be aware the new clips do not have room for the old metal clamp that press on the headband.
These also do not come with instructions so I had to find a video on youtube. I did not even notice the tiny balls until I saw them in the video.
Edit:
It's been about 2 years now and these clips have held together without issue. There are no visible cracks.

Beyerdynamic DT-770
beyerdynamic lover 13.04.2022
After several years of using DT-770 the plastic headband slider broke, I decided to change it myself, it's not as easy as it might seem, everything fits perfectly. I think it is a good option that you can buy and change almost any part of the headphones yourself. I like beyerdynamic products and will continue to use them

thank god there are still brands with spare parts
SamBooko 07.06.2021
No need to say but Beyer is one step ahead. Everything from their headsets are repairable and very cheap.
the slider now is as new and my dt770pro are the same of 7 years ago.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR PRODUCTS IF YOU CAN SPEND SOMETHING TO REPAIR THEM.

I have a pair of Dt-990 pros that are coming up on 12 years old, while some elements were failing, the speakers themselves were in good condition. these sliders fit perfect to replace cracked ones

Same as old ones
Evgeny1123 09.08.2025
I see reviews that the logo is upgraded and the ball is not plastic.
But I received an exact copy of original sliders with the same old logo, and plastic balls in the clicker.
I didn't even change the clicking part with, they are fine. It's the outer shell which is cracked. Now it's the same, hopefully will hold for another couple of years. After that I will go with a third-party thicker one.

I've broke my headphones and was really happy that beyerdynamic has spare parts available. It was an easy fix and my headphones are like new :)
