Dependable -not just a measurement mic
As a measurement mic, you've got to be able to trust it and Beyerdynamic have the reputation for that. I use it quite often to ring out the house PA at the venues I work in. It's well built, easy to use -my only difficulty was that I lost the clip holder for a few weeks but finding others to fit was not hard.
As a recording mic, it's honest and detailed. The specs say it's very slightly brighter than a flat frequency response -but I didn't notice any harshness or thin-ness to the sound. It's got a bit of self noise, but it's not too bad.
I've used it to record acoustic guitar and as an ambient mic to record a string quartet and it really impressed me.

Does the job
It does the job of finding time and being able to align a PA according to it.
