Tried the recycling old drumheads method, but this is way better.
It's more practical, actually sounds better than an used drumhead and gives it a cleaner look. The black ring is thicker than the rest so that's why a recycled drumhead doesn't sound as good as this.

Interesting sound!
I like this for the fatness you get, it also allows more of a stick-attack sound than using, for example, a t-shirt. However there is a definite reduction in the amount of re-bound you get from the drum stick. Even though it is great I wonder if it would be just as good to use an old drum head to create this instead of buying this custom made (and quite expensive) object.
Still generally happy with it though and definitely worth trying for 70s style drum sounds.

a helpful addition to snare drum sound
Solves the metallic ring of my Ludwig supersonic snare instantly. Studio engineers will love this!

Fantastic
This is what i was looking for when I was cutting old skin to instantly low tune and kill the harmonics of the snare drum. This Does exactly that. Nothing more nothing less. It can be used also on 14" floor tom to even make it sound lower . Great meterial and good the rubber rim to provide both weight and harmony damping.
