Awesome boost pedal
Check out some of the reviews on YouTube. Usually these reviews are a little generous with praise. Unsurprisingly, but seriously this time they’re spot on. This pedal really should be called the magic dust pedal. It just adds something to the tone. It’s so special!

Dont expect linear freqency boost.
This is not "natural voice with minimal coloration". I bought this pedal thinking it will linearly boost the signal like GE-7 or TC Rush. Wanted something with better switch than TC and better knobs than GE-7. But this pedal, even it its NAT mode cuts the low frequencies (I tested it with REW Software, not just by ear). Altough its not so noticable by ear I feel like BOSS should tell people in their marketing what are they buying. This is not "natural voice with minimal coloration" they clearly have high pass filter in signal path when pedal is engaged.

Very creative pedal, two know wonder
So I was a bit confused by the pedal when I bought it but I kept using it. It can be a clean boost on the middle setting, and that is always useful.
Besides that though the two preamps are, well basically little solid state preamps. These have been used on records and live by famous people. That doesn't help you though unless you know how.
Basically - the RE and CE circuits have a certain EQ to them that can really work well with some amp/pickup combinations. Also the Clipping that happens at higher gain is very touch sensitive and stacks well with other pedals and adds light compression. So in a way this pedal is highly usable in any chain and dead simple to use with the two knobs. A Tone control imo was not necessary (you probably have tone controls on your guitar and like 5 other pedals, or 15 ;)).

Awesome boost pedal, Waza Craft treatment!
Fantastic boost pedal that brings legendaries preamps in an analog circuit. Not to forget the buffer that includes Standard / Vintage variations. Recommend it for every John Frusciante fans out there!

Excellent clear sound from the Boss PB-1W
"What an exceptional pedal!!!!
Wow, I made the mistake of selling it once... but I couldn't stand it, so I bought it again within a week! 🤣🤣
Here’s the deal: I own a StudioTone 20W combo and I had a specific issue with the clean channel. While it’s an excellent amp, to my ears it sounded too "harsh" for my jazz guitar (this isn't an issue on the crunch channel). My ears would literally get fatigued when practicing at home.
This pedal, on the RE setting, produces excellent mids and is incredibly well-balanced. Of course, it offers a type of EQ, which isn't exactly a standard EQ, but rather that distinct tonal character of an exceptional preamp.
I don’t think it’s suited for heavy distortion or high gain—that’s not its purpose anyway—but for the Jazz and Jazz-Blues sounds I’m looking for, I believe it’s one of the best pedals Boss has ever manufactured.
It’s never leaving my pedalboard again!"

Awesome analog grit
All the options on this BP-1W sound great, with my favourite being the CE-1 option.
The Space Echo sounds great too and having the option of a more neutral preamp and also the standard or vintage buffer options mean that this pedal not only sounds brilliant, it’s more versatile than it first seems to be too!

Just perfect tone
The tone is just great and the pedal is solid build as you'd expect from Boss, especially Waza craft. I absolutelly recommend it.
