A must have pedal for bigger pedalboards
TTguitar 29.09.2020
I always used to get a lot of hum out of my single coils, especially when turning on overdrive and distortion. Since i bought the NS-2 there is no excessive hum and it was pretty easy to set up with just two control knobs that do everything.
However there are some problems: it slightly alters your tone giving you less feedback. You also need to read the manual quite carefully to patch it right into the pedalboard.

Excellent pedal!
Benni D. 07.07.2016
The Boss NS-2 is a noise suppressor / noise gate pedal - maybe not the most exciting purchase a guitarist can make, but definitely an important one if you are playing anything with high amounts of gain, hum, or noise.

The Boss NS-2 operates similarly to most other noise suppressor pedals on the market - you set a threshold so that only signal above that level will pass through to your amp. The pedal offers a Decay knob to set the speed and shape of the suppression. The final knob sets the mode of the unit, which changes it from a suppressor to simple mute / killswitch pedal. The NS-2 also features a built in loop, allowing you to patch in overdrive / distortion / fuzz / other noisy pedals directly into the NS-2.

The NS-2 has a fantastic set of features and sounds excellent. It effectively cuts out noise, giving the user full control of the amount of suppression, but it also properly retains the sound of your guitar.

I think the NS-2 is an excellent noise gate pedal, but it can be difficult to find the best place for it in your setup. The amount of features the NS-2 offers, and the position of it in your pedal chain can vary the results and success of the the pedal. It takes a little time to work out the best way of using it for your own personal use, but it is totally worth it!

Boss Ns-2

Delivery took about 3 days from Germany to uk. The first pedal i was sent died within a few months of gigging. Thomann were quick to rectify this and send me a brand new pedal. First class service as always.

The Boss Ns-2 is a rugged well built pedal that works best out in front of an amp silencing your distortions & Fx. The pedal functions well and is great if you are using a strat or single coil style guitar. It does have an overall effect on tone when used in the loop of an amp but shines when used in front barley effecting the tone at all. An amazing pedal that you just cannot do without if you are using distortions/Overdrive in front if your amp.

A good noise supressor
Anonymous 29.04.2016
This is a good NS pedal. It doesn't suck out too much of the tone as long as you don't overdo the threshold.

I have noticed however, that it sometimes inserts some noise into other pedals that are daisychained on the same power source (without actually being connected in the signal path). It depends where in the power chain it's placed. I suggest using it with batteries, with a proper pedal power supply or on its own power supply.

I resolved my problems of noise
Anonymous 06.04.2014
This pedal is very good, I stopped having the problems we had with some noise due to some distortions. Especially live, when using certain distortions in the break between songs, it was annoying noise coming from the guitar amp. When I use two guitars, also do not need to turn off the amplifier, with mute option, can I change guitars much faster. I very resistant material, is my first Boss pedal, I was really pleased.
