Crisp, detailed, open transparent sound.
Having the fine and coarse controls enable you to maximise your input levels to get just the amount of drive you want and I love the chickenhead controls.
Meaty build quality, everything feels absolutely solid.
Switchable impedance nice to have (although in my experience, the higher impedance always sounds better on any mic)
Although it has a line/mic switch, would have been nice to have a jack DI input.
Not a dealbreaker for me, I like miking amps anyway
Yes, it's expensive but it feels and sounds expensive too.

Ich besitze einen Chandler TG2, quasi den 2-kanaligen großen Bruder. Mein Lieblingspreamp. Im Blindtest war die 500er-Variante klanglich nicht zu unterscheiden. Wer also nur Mono braucht und auf DI verzichten kann ist hier bestens aufgehoben und spart so 50% des Preises für den TG2.

Vaikka tätä etuastetta hehkutetaan enimmäkseen kitaroille, itse käytän TG2:sta lauluille Manley Ref C:n kanssa. Koska Manley on hyvin Hifi mikki, TG2 tuo saundiin juuri sopivasti luonnetta. Ajan etuastetta hyvin maltillisella Gainilla outputin ollessa miltei täysillä, jottei lähde saturoimaan saundia liikaa, tästä nimittäin irtoaa raivoa niin paljon kun kehtaa käyttää. Multa löytyy myös Rupert Neve Designsin 511, joka on myös erinomainen, mutta päädyn kerta toisensa jälkeen Chandleriin liidilaulun äänityksissä, jotain ihanaa tässä vaan on.
