Das Apollo Ebonit klingt dunkler als die "normalen" Claude Lakey Mundstücke, verfügt aber dennoch in den Höhen eine schöne Brillianz, die es ideal für Jazz, Rock und Funk erscheinen lassen. Trotz Stufe spricht es in den Tiefen prima an und die Höhen klingen nicht dünn. Hier wurde also ein wirklich guter Kompromiss von Lakey gefunden. Ich mußte bei den Blättern ein wenig umstellen (von Vandoren ZZ 2,5 auf Rico Royal 2,5). Das Mundstück ist durch das Oberflächendesign vergleichsweise leicht und schmal gebaut. Ideal auch für Spieler, die vom Metall-Mundstück auf Kautschuk umsteigen wollen.
