Would even the most experienced and picky guitar player of present day still dream of getting a Danelectro, hadn't the genius of Jimmy Page shown the whole world how one can get the absolute most out of this little masonite-over-plywood fellow? A very simple, humble bunch of compressed wood fibers with a bolt-on neckstyle made a definitive monolith by the Dark Lord! A now timeless icon, consecrated for cradling classics like "Kashmir", Danelectro's endurance has never been about its budgety aspect — no other guitar one would call a good bargain for budget has ever achieved the respectful post owned by the Dano as such a unique sounding screamer. A little jewel for any guitarist who will sure pass on cheap, but still would go for quirky over premium, the Danelectro 59X stands as solid as a chambered body guitar can be. A bold reinvention of Page's famous DC-2 3021 that will easily pull at its listeners heartstrings, with its gorgeous combo of a P90-ish pickup and the legendary lipsticks. What a flawless acquisition, I am in love!

I got this guitar for many reasons. I got it because it wasnt a stratocaster or a telecaster or a les paul. I wanted something with a different profile and a different sound. I chose the 59x because it had the lipstick pickups and the P90 style so it offers a full range of warmth and twang. I decided this model, without the tremolo bar and ... I wanted to learn how to do without it. It forced me to concentrate on technique, bends etc. This guitar can produce so many types of sounds, its versatile, thats the word. It's difficult to have just one guitar, but this serves a magic bullet. Another plus, it that it holds tune very well.
I'm not the type to write evaluations, but I cannot understand why there aren't more evaluations on this. I weigh heavily on what other people have to say, maybe you do too. This model offers you warmth and fullness.
There has been some problem with the switch for the bottom pickup, it maybe due to the coil splitting knob, not sure, there may be some kind of spray to work it out, I'm not overly concerned by it because it is only occasional and a little jiggling gets it back on.
And like I said, great sound. I later discovered that Jimmy Page and Jimmy Hendrix played Danelectros at one time.
