Ich war wohl einer der Ersten, die sich den FiftyNiner zugelegt haben! Optisch finde ich das Teil wirklich obercool, und die Verarbeitung ist astrein. Der Bass hängt sehr ausgewogen am Körper und ist extrem leicht und angenehm zu tragen. Der dünne Hals ist eine "Flitzeteil" und lässt sich in allen Lagen hervorragend bespielen.
Auch der Sound gefällt mir sehr gut, er ist zunächst eher drahtig, aber wenn man den Höhenregler herunterdreht, kommt auch das tiefe Grummeln. Überhaupt: Die Beschränkung auf die beiden Regler (Volume und Höhen für beide Pickups zusammen) gefällt mir bei Live Auftritten sehr gut, da man ohne großes Gefummele den Sound während des Spielens verändern kann. Die Regler arbeiten sehr gleichmäßig und intensiv. Ich spiele noch einen Fender Urge I Stu Hamm Signature mit Aktivelektronik, der ist natürlich soundmäßig wesentlich vielseitiger, ebenfalls leicht bespielbar, aber der Danelectro ist inzwischen mein Liebling geworden...
