Plays well, Has nices features but the workmanship is poor for that price

Pros:
-Very Comfortable to play
-Nice Dual Pick-up system
-Looks Good (or would without the flaws mentioned below)
-Nice warm tone
Cons: #
-Very heavy to hold, even with the shoulder strap
-Nice sound, but when played unplugged it's very quiet compared to other banjos I've played, You have to pick quite hard to get any kind of volume
-the skin which seems natural and with a slightly rough texture appears to be over oiled , any touch instantly leaves dark finger prints (will look dirty a lot sooner then typical banjo skins).
-Workmanship is seriously poor for something of this price and reputation....visible scuff and machine marks on metal ring (ring joint on the silver colored ring which could easily be concealed by placing it behind the neck or arm rest is exposed) fret wire grooves are overcut and unfilled leaving visible gaps below some frets. Also miss aligned fret points/dots on side of neck (none of this effects the playablity or sound but for this price you shouldn't have visible flaws you wouldn't even expect in instruments that cost less than half the price)
Over all a nice playable instrument, but visually due to the flaws in workmanship my particular one seems like it should have been B-stock at best, and doesn't feel worth the 2500euro. If I hadn't already been waiting 7 weeks+ for this one I'd probably have sent it back for a replacement

Je suis guitariste et je vient de m'acheter ce banjo à 6 cordes. C'est un vrais plaisir de jouer sur cette instrument. Le son en acoustique est chaud et riche en harmonie. Pour un guitariste il a un manche très agréable. Je l'ai branché sur mon ampli AER et la c'est du pur bonheur! Le "ton control" vous permet d'avoir un son plus aigu ou plus chaud selon le choix du micro.
Je l'ai aussi utilisé en concert à travers une sono et ça balance bien, pas de larsen!

Este banjo es realmente bueno,el sistema de preamplificación lo hace aun mejor.Espero que deering suministre el parche de repuesto en el futuro, es la única duda que tengo ya que no hay parches de repuesto como este de momento.

Nach der Bestellung habe ich die Tage gezählt bis dann endlich Lieferung vor der Tür stand. Das Deering Phoenix Banjo ist zu 100% Made in USA. Deering steht für beste Qualität und ist ein sehr innovatives amerikanisches Unternehmen, welches im Banjosektor sehr bekannt ist (Keith Urban, Mumford and Sons). Die Verarbeitung ist wirklich ausgezeichnet und lässt sich das Banjo wie "Butter" spielen. Also für Gitarristen bestens geeignet.
Das Soundsystem Pick Up habe ich auf einer großen PA ausprobiert und das Banjo kann sich auch innerhalb einer Band durchsetzen.
Fazit: Rechnet man die Kosten eines Banjos + Pick up = und würde die Teile einzeln anschaffen ist jeder Cent dieses Produktes seinen Preis wert. Spielfreude kommt auf und die Blicke aus dem Publikum werden sich vermehren.
