Pickup

The classic PAF humbucker sound with an extra portion of mids and treble, therefore PAF Pro. For all those guitarists who do not want a high-gain shouter, but would like to have their sound slightly hotter and more assertive. A particularly popular combination: At the neck a PAF (143059) and at the bridge the PAF Pro. Thus also the volume ratio between the neck and the bridge pickup is balanced - a short revision: As strings can oscillate better towards their middle, the neck pickup (given identical pickups) is always slightly louder. The DP 151F (F-spacing) is suitable for guitars with Floyd Rose vibratos.

Great when coil split :D
Angelus502 01.07.2015
Im not one for using a neck humbucker to often as I play a lot of very hard rock / metal and they always sound just a bit too dark and muddy to my ears.

I put this in a Ibanez RG350DXZ with a basswood body, and even though its supposed to be a bit brighter than the PAF its still a bit dark in humbucker config for my taste, but that's probably just me.. So if you are like me I think the PAF Joe is brighter again and may be the one to go for.

Single coil split its awesome though. Single coil tone, but big and warm. Also there's very little volume drop from when in humbucking config.

What more can someone want?

The Dimarzio Paf Pro is a well known humbucker that has been reviewed millions of times and the feedback is always positive. It's a true classic by all means.

The pickup has outstanding sound quality, with mids being emphasized in the best possible way to give a warm but very articulate sound, open, with great attack response and dynamics. If you roll-off the volume it cleans up beautifully and you can really do the ol' trick of playing clean rhythm and at the same time with a little turn in the pot play lead.

There's not much to be said about this wonderful pickup. It's the golden standard for a truly good bridge humbucker that can play anything from blues to hard rock, even metal if you don't fancy darker sounds. Absolutely recommended!

Sublime
Anonymous 26.04.2015
I bought this and a Mo' Joe to re-awaken my old Ibanez S from the depths of slumber with it's ok stock pickups. Well what a difference these have made!

Installation was reasonably straight forward (although I was replacing more than just pickups). Be aware that my Ibanez stock pickups had the white wire as hot and the red as coil split whereas Dimarzio are the other way round.

The sound of this in the neck position is sublime. With a clean sound this has a very balanced amount of bass which doesn't muddy even with gain. For solos this really sings with incredible sustain yet all the dynamics of your pick attack remains intact.
