I got a cheap Chinese 7 string for my son. it plays great but sounds meh.
I've used dimarzio pickups before always loved them
this has a great sound and has 4 wires which would allow for coil tap, series or parallel wiring
the only criticism is that the fixing holes are not tapped. I think this is so you can use the existing screws and drill and tap the holes yourself. they supply springs for mounting and so could provide the screws to match the tapped holes. I suppose they don't know if you want black or chrome fastenings but the cost of supplying 4 mounting screws (2 of black, 2 chrome) can't be that muck
other than this minor gripe, the pickup sounds great and the cheap Chinese guitar is now very playable

Im Austausch gegen einen EMG 81-7 in einer LTD Hex-7.

Aktive EMG Pickups sind in den letzten Jahren bei Gitarren der härteren Richtung zum Standard geworden. Ich selbst spiele schon seit über 10 Jahren EMG 81-7 und EMG 707 Pickups in verschiedenen Gitarren.

Im direkten Vergleich zum EMG 81-7 ist der Dimarzio weniger flexibel, wirkt aber wesentlich dynamischer und direkter, mit fühlbar mehr Output. Töne und Akkorde springen einem quasi direkt an. Dennoch gibts kein matschen und kein fuzzeln.

Ein gelungener, brachialer Pickup, gemacht für die härtesten unter der Sonne!

Excellent micro pour 7 cordes

J'avais déjà rédigé un avis plutôt mitigé sur le X2N monté sur du tilleul en 6 cordes.

J'ai réitéré l'expérience cette fois sur une 7 cordes toujours en tilleul avec manche érable. Il s'est montré très très convainquant. Il troque un peu de sa puissance démesurée en version 6 cordes pour ajouter le petit plus de précision qu'il lui manquait.

Résultat: tant que c'est du métal tout est jouable (yes, it djent !) Franchement agréable sur ce bois, il peut faire changer clairement le son d'une guitare dont les micros seraient un peu faiblards.
