Excellent addition or 1st filter

I'm a newbie to modular but already have an MFB low pass and wanted to expand my small setups reportiore with a different filter. After looking at all the Dopefer ones on offer and viewing a couple of you tube videos I opted for the A-101-1 Vactrol. So far it's been really great, very flexible and with a really nice soft round sound a little sem like to my untrained ears. Being able to feed the LP, BP and HP sections independantly is great. The cv inputs affect all three filter types equally but there is independant control over the output of each filter. I'd recommend the A-101-1 to anyone looking for an alternative to the standard LP filter and without the funds required for some of the more exotic offerings from other manufacters. I love it.

A filter with great character

I love this module, and it's surprisingly versatile. The ability to input different signals to the LP, BP and HF inputs can lead to some really interesting sounds, although using them individually they also sound and work great. The filter itself has a very unique and warm character, the LP in particular has a lovely "fuzziness" about it. As with a lot of the Doepfer modules a bit of creativity will get a lot out of a very affordable module. I have had this module for about 6 months now and I am still enjoying experimenting with different modulation sources and combinations of inputted signal. A great character filter and great value for money.

Kommt langsam, aber...

zuerst war ich drauf und dran das A-101-1 wieder zurück zu senden. Da ich bereits 14 verschiedene Doepfer Filtermodule besitze und nicht so recht wußte, was mir ein Filtermodul bringt, das auf Vactroltechnik beruht. Ich wollte es dennoch ausprobieren und bin froh, dass ich mir mit dem Modul etwas mehr Zeit gegönnt habe.
Speziell die regelbare Mischung aus Tiefpass und Bandpass birgt positive Überraschungen - wohingegen das Hochpassfilter im Vergleich so gut wie nicht auf Modulationen anspricht (irgendwie schade). Äußerst interessant finde ich den Klang der Resonanz und die Möglichkeit, den Sound auch in einer etwas 'geglätteten' Version abzugreifen.

Insgesamt bin ich froh, dass ich das A-101-1 nicht zurück geschickt habe.

Filtre très intéressant parce qu'il comporte plusieurs sorties combinables et offre une vaste palette de filtrage sans nouveau patch.
Les possibilités de modulations sont aussi plis nombreuse que sur les autres.
