Best strings

I have settled on Elixir after trying most big string brands.

My hands get quite sweaty, this is the only brand that has the strings last for a reasonable time before corroding.

The sound is also really really good, the optiweb is not a lot better than nanoweb, but the difference is enough for me to look for these every time.

Now for the gauge, the 10-52 is great if you want that punchy rhythm chug on the power chords but do not want to do a lot of effort to bend. It works well for E standard, D standard or drop C tunings alike. Too bad the local shops don't stock enough of them and elixir is not selling packs of 10.

Elixir Optiweb 19077 Light/Heavy
Arsen_Saryyev 22.03.2024
One of the main advantages of Elixir Optiweb strings is their innovative coating. Optiweb's optically clear coating creates a layer that protects the strings from the accumulation of dirt, sweat and finger oil, allowing them to retain their bright and fresh sound over long periods of use. In addition, this coating provides a smooth surface for the strings, which makes them pleasant to play and reduces friction, which promotes easier finger glide.

In addition, Elixir Optiweb 19077 Light/Heavy strings offer a wide range of sound. They feature a combination of light and heavy strings, allowing guitarists to achieve both a bright and clear sound and a deeper and richer sound, depending on their preference and playing style.

Just as importantly, Elixir Optiweb strings are made from high quality materials to ensure that they are durable and resistant to wear and tear. This allows them to retain their sound characteristics and playability even under heavy use on stage or in the studio.

And just when I tought I have seen it all..
AdrianoGominho 03.06.2019
I tried these strings on one of my guitars and after a week I noticed that the sound stayed as crisp as when they were changed! And it stayed like that for at least two months of daily playing!

And it definitely feels much smother than other strings...

When I took the guitar for a professional setup and forgot to send along a set of these (the guitar shop does not stock elixir) they put in another well-known brand. After just a few days I had to replace them with a new elixir set as the sound was getting noticeably duller and duller every day. Not only that but the collection of dirt behind the strings that I took for granted for as long as I remember, seems to be gone with these strings - don't ask me where it goes...
